Natural characteristics

The fruit is approximately the same size as a potato; is grenade-shaped and fleshy with are gularly placed lumpy pock-marks on the surface; It is semi-translucent, and its colour ranges from green to yellow to nearly white at the time of harvest. The fruit contains small reddish-brown buds, each containing four seeds. Noni is generally used as a Dietary Supplement. Found in the wild and commercial farms. The Noni plant blossoms in virgin lands, generally near the sea; it transforms into a tree and grows up to 10 to 20 feet high. The fruit has approximately 8 cm in diameter; the pulp is brown and dense. As live tissues, fruits undergo many physicochemical changes at the post-harvest stage. Hence, the quality of the fresh produce is assessed based on its sensory attributes, safety, and nutritional values.
